Panoramas are captured by smart phone technology stitching multiple photos in the OOTB camera app with no real editing or cropping - I have been enjoying the artifacts since 2015.
When I have photos and videos at the same locations I am drawn to scanning the horizon or looking up to recall what on earth was going on and what it was like to be there. As a 3CCD Videographer/Editor first then APS-C to Full Frame DSLR then cinema camera later on - I am finding that I am taking less video and photo reference and fewer panoramas over time to tell as much story in as few frames as possible to reduce the time behind a computer processing and editing later.
Limited to multiple shots that are stitched together in the moment gives some opportunity to be clever - sometimes reward for patience if there is awareness past the screen.
Panning across or up or over a scene - I am hoping a bit of story comes through as the people I travel with wait patiently for me to snag yet another panorama along the way. I have definitely gotten better at finding an interesting vantage point and like to try to have something wandering in and out of frame
